This Privacy Policy applies to the AzZahra Preschool mobile app and our website. The app is intended for parents/guardians of enrolled students; children do not need their own accounts.

• Parent/Guardian Account: name, email, phone number, password (hashed), relationship to the child.

• Child School Records: name, class, attendance, learning notes, photos/videos, health notes provided to the school (e.g., allergies), authorized pick-up contacts.

• Communications: messages and attachments exchanged with teachers/school.

• Usage & Device: app events, IP address, device model/OS, crash logs, push token; cookies on the website.

3) How We Use Data

• Provide daily updates, attendance, learning notes, announcements, and calendars.

• Enable secure chat between parents and teachers.

• Operate and improve the app, including analytics (in aggregate/de-identified form).

• Send notifications you opt into (e.g., new post/message).

• Maintain safety, prevent abuse, fix bugs, and comply with laws.

4) Legal Bases

Depending on your country’s law, we rely on: consent (e.g., photos, marketing), contract/service provision, legitimate interests (security, improvement), legal obligation, and vital interests (emergencies).

• Teachers and authorized school staff to run classes and communicate with you.

We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or anonymize it. Typical periods:

• Parent account: while active + a limited period for backups/records.

• Classroom posts/photos & learning records: for the school year and a limited period after a child leaves, subject to school archiving duties.

• Messages/logs: retained for troubleshooting and safety for a limited period.

8) Your Rights

Subject to law, you may request access, correction, deletion, consent withdrawal, restriction/objection, and (where feasible) portability. Email or reach out to the school and we may verify your identity.

9) Children’s Privacy

Children’s data is processed through the school with parental consent. If you believe a child has submitted data directly without consent, contact us and we will delete it.
 

10) Security

We use measures such as encryption in transit/at rest, role-based access, logging, and regular reviews. No method is 100% secure; we will notify you of significant breaches as required by law.
